The World Touring Car Championship was a very popular touring car series based on real production cars. It had technical regulations similar to many national touringcar champsionships like the BTCC (Great Britain). It saw active participation of official works teams from BMW, Seat, Chevrolet and Citro�n.
Some well known champions include Andry Priaux, Gabriele Tarquinu, Yvan Muller and Jos� Mar�a L�pez.
The series was active from 2005 until 2017. It was followed up by the WTCR.
